China International Lead and Zinc Conference, an annual event, is the largest gathering for world lead and zinc industry. A great number of industrial insiders both from China and abroad will attend the conference, and sit together and communicate with each other on the platform. The annual conference has become the windmark of Chinese lead and zinc industry development.
Under the struck of world wide economic crisis, around 80% lead and zinc mines and smelters in China had been cutting production or even suspend production from the fourth quarter 2008 to the first quarter this year. Meanwhile, most zinc smelters were operating in deficit. The factors resulted in the sharp fluctuation of global lead and zinc prices in the period.
Whether the situation will go on playing in 2009? Where will the world lead and zinc industry go? Whether the lead and zinc prices has touched bottom and begun to rise? These topics will be hotly discussed on the conference.
Being a key lead and zinc production base in China, Gansu enjoyed a rapid growth of its lead and zinc industry. The lead and zinc mining and smelting production plays important role in China. Baiyin Nonferrous Metals (Group) Co., Ltd. is a traditional lead-zinc-copper producing enterprise in China, which was established in 1954.
